Timothy Turner, LPC

Tim brings a combination of personal experience and professional education that is unique. He is a survivor of many challenges, which informs his work with a compassion and understanding for those struggling. His approach to therapy emphasizes presence, self-curiosity, and authenticity. Tim believes that life situations, social trauma, and our own expectations injure our ability to live free and fulfilled lives. He offers a collaborative relationship building safety, awareness, and confidence. Tim prepares you for empowerment and responsibility so you can stand on your own two feet and move toward a fulfilled life.

Tim has a collective 12 years of mental health experience working in hospital, community, school-based, and now independent practice. He earned both his B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Arkansas. His training as a generalist has equipped him with skills to help people in many situations, but he is always looking to grow his skills and help more.

Personal Message

Research supports the view that the most powerful part of therapy is the relationship between client and clinician. It is why many professionals emphasize the safe and supportive nature of our work. I recognize in therapy you will be asked to be vulnerable and need trust. In order to earn that trust I pledge to honor your beliefs and respect your life that has helped you reach where you are now. I will do my best to truly listen to you and be your ally. In our work there is the possibility I may confront you about behavior patterns or habits that could be holding you back. I say this up front, because I know the price of getting stuck and the problems that come from leaving potential mental health hazards ignored. In our work we will get you free and unstuck from what has been weighing you down. This is the true work of therapy, but we'll get you through it as a team.

I am a Caucasian male, and you may be concerned about societal trauma: racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, homophobia or other forms of discrimination because of my background. I take inclusion and respect for everyone very seriously. I am here to help you heal, not run you over. If you use your voice, I will listen. My goal is to empower you through health, wholeness, and support.

Here to Help

If you're ready for the next step, I'm here.
